Adax provides the foundation for the A interface between the Base Station Controller (BSC) and Mobile Switching Center (MSC) which requires the SS7 (Signaling System 7) protocol. The Adax High Density Channelized Controller (HDC) provides a high performance foundation for the A Interface with the capability to run up to 124 SS7 MTP2 channels over 4 T1/E1 interfaces per card for maximum usage of slot space. Multiple cards can be used for a completely scalable solution. The Adax SS7 MTP2 is integrated to third party MTP3 and higher SS7 layers for a complete A interface solution.

The HDC is a multiple protocol controller, and therefore can also be used to run up to 128 channels of LAPD on the same controller for the A-bis Interface connecting the BSC to the BTS. The Adax LAPD integrates to proprietary BTS management in the system.

The Adax HDC card is available in cPCI, PCI or PMC formats for maximum flexibility in system configuration and platform choice. The efficiency of the Adax cards ensures that minimal burden is taken off the host CPU, leaving most of the system available for running GSM applications.
