Adax Solutions for Mobile Backhaul
70% of North American Base Stations use T1/TDM Circuits and the
mobile data explosion is overloading these circuits. Provisioning
more TDM circuits is cost-prohibitive and Network Service Providers
want mobile backhaul over IP. Pseudowire (PWE) is one solution
but it lacks content awareness and whilst Ethernet can provide
traffic awareness it was not designed for high reliability, voice
quality. The Carrier Ethernet standard means that it can now
match TDM reliability and availability enabling network traffic
to be offloaded to IP packet based transport for backhaul to
the core network.
The combination of the Adax APR, PktAMC and ATM products provide
the ideal foundation for an ecosystem of partner software solutions
for mobile backhaul.
Adax Solutions for Access Concentration
The mobile data explosion also affects legacy TDM circuits and
Base Stations links to Regional Network Controllers are overloaded.
Provisioning more TDM circuits is cost-prohibitive and Network
Service Providers want to concentrate the network traffic over
IP and transport data over IP/Ethernet at the earliest junction
in the network.
The APR is the ideal host for Access Concentration on an ATCA
chassis and Adax has the software skills to implement creative
solutions.
The AdaxGW supports the SS7/SIGTRAN signaling applications
and the APR hosts all necessary interface cards: HDC3 for SS7,
LAPD
and Frame Relay; HDC3 for TDM voice over I-TDM to DSP cards;
HDC3 for Drop and Insert DACS replacement; ATM4 for SS7 and
ATM-IP voice
to RTP on the APR Cavium.
The APR is both flexible and scalable enabling multi-purpose
HDC3 and ATM4 cards to be deployed in the same blade and
additional cards can be added to the APR as they are needed.
