Adax, Inc. Announces
Purchase Agreement with Santera Systems, Inc. Adax,
Inc., the world's leading supplier of signaling controllers and
software for telecommunication networks, has been awarded a contract
by Santera Systems, Inc. to provide signaling solutions for Santera's
Media Gateway Controller.
Santera Systems,
Inc., a pioneer in the development of next-generation switching
products, is using Adax Signaling solutions in its Media Gateway
Controller to provide data, voice and media services. Each Santera
Media Gateway Controller incorporates two Adax High Density Channelized
(HDC) cards and performs essential signaling tasks ranging from
platform and configuration control to call processing. Two of the
applications in the MGC are the SS7 Signaling Gateway and the External
Serial Gateway.
Santera selected
Adax to run the lower layers of the SS7 stack and X.25 in parallel
because of the superior performance of the HDC solution in processing
multiple protocols, dynamically allocated over 128 channels. With
the processing of the MTP2 protocol "pushed down" to an
on-board 233 MHz processor, the HDC board achieves efficient and
fast SS7 processing with minimal overhead on the Gateway CPU. The
HDC board is capable of handling up to 32 SS7 links or 128 channels
of HDLC-type protocols, or a combination of SS7 and other protocols,
running over four software-configurable T1 or E1 R145 network connectors.
About Santera
Santera Systems, Inc., located in Plano, Texas, offers a multi-service
next generation switching system with Class 4, Class 5, VoDSL and
Data services over legacy and next generation interfaces enabling
true circuit to packet migration. Supported interfaces include:
SS7, PRI, GR303, ATM, Frame Relay, IP and others. The founders of
next generation pioneers such as Cascade, Shasta, Ardent adn Arris
created Santera in 1998. More information can be obtained at www.santera.com , or by calling either 972-461-6300 or toll free 1-866-519-9000.
