Adax and Bharti Telesoft partner to enhance network efficiency and reduce network costs for telecom operators

Reading, UK, 21st October 2003: Adax and Bharti Telesoft have joined forces to provide network applications to telecom operators and service providers in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Latin America. The Adax HDC and ACT cards have been integrated with Bharti Telesoft’s software products to enable network services such as optimal call routing, Call Management services, pre-paid management services, USSD Gateways and SMS welcome messaging for HLR/VLR and SMSC network nodes. These applications enhance network efficiency, reduce network costs and enable the implementation of revenue-enhancing services to improve subscriber loyalty.

The Adax cards provide the lower level protocol functions and interface that enable operators to implement Bharti Telesoft’s software on the network. The HDC cards have been used for MAP-related applications, such as SMSCs which handles SMS messaging in the network, and ISUP-related applications, such as optimal call routing which enables subscribers to call in-roaming customers at local rates. The ACT cards enable network monitoring and performance applications, such as SMS welcome messaging which automatically senses the arrival of a visitor to a mobile network and sends a short welcome message to that visitor.

“Value-added network services are vital for operators that need to stay one step ahead of the competition and reduce customer churn,” said Robin Kent, Director of European Operations at Adax Europe. “This partnership enables operators to implement reliable and robust applications quickly and cost-efficiently.”

“One of the key reasons for partnering with Adax is the flexibility of its products,” said Anil Gajwani, Chief Operating Officer at Bharti Telesoft. “For example, the HDC cards can be used for a number of ISUP and MAP-based applications without making any changes to the underlying hardware.”

The Adax HDC card is a high performance controller for wireless, wireline and converging PSTN/IP network platforms. It is a high density, multiple protocol, channelised controller that supports both traditional SS7 and SIGTRAN protocols for SS7 over IP, making it ideal for signaling and media gateways, softswitches and SGSN/GGSN nodes for GPRS and UMTS.

The Adax ACT card is a high performance, channelised controller that provides a high density, cost-effective solution for next generation networks and traffic monitoring applications. The card has specific features that enhance its ability to carry out monitoring functions such as time stamping and FISU filtering (for SS7 traffic).
