Adax,
Inc. acquires Radisys Signaling Gateway Division
Signaling Gateways
to extend Adax product portfolio
Berkeley,
CA, April 1, 2003: Adax, Inc., the industry leader in high performance
communications and signaling infrastructure, announced today its
acquisition of Radisys' Signaling Gateway division. With this acquisition,
Adax gains the Savvi product line of Signaling Gateways for SS7/IP
switching, routing, tunneling and backhaul. Adax products are already
ideal for signaling gateways with multiple protocol capabilities
and supporting T1/E1, OC3/STM-1 and Ethernet interfaces for the
connection of existing SS7 infrastructure to IP networks. This is
a natural progression for Adax and enables customers to easily deploy
a more comprehensive signaling gateway platform solution.
The addition
of the Savvi gateways, will enable the company to anticipate and
efficiently serve the future demands of the wireless market as it
moves towards integration of IP-based infrastructure with SS7. The
leading-edge Savvi signaling gateway products enable customers to
deploy IP and ATM-enabled switches, STPs and databases over traditional
SS7 networks. Combining these gateways with Adax's industry leading
products will allow customers to quickly and easily leverage their
applications on a true platform signaling gateway. The integration
of the Radisys signaling gateways and Adax's software and hardware
will provide a cost-effective signaling platform with dramatically
increased capacity, throughput and performance.
The Radisys
signaling gateway division products enable direct IP migration of
existing signaling points, regardless of network architecture and
are fully interoperable with other gateways, Signal Transfer Points,
databases and legacy PSTN switches. These factors enable carrier
network scalability and flexibility, an important part of designing
fully compatible, next-generation IP-based systems.
"The addition
of the Radisys signaling gateway division to our portfolio is a
logical extension and allows us to support the increasing migration
to SS7/IP, SS7 tunneling and M2UA backhaul in networks," said
Dr. Barry Zuckerman, president of Adax, Inc. "The combination
of Adax and Savvi products to deliver an integrated signaling gateway
platform will make this transition much easier and more cost effective
for our customers."
