New High Density Signaling Gateway for High Performance with High Availabilit
New High Density Signaling Gateway
for High Performance with High Availability
Distributed design and operation with no single point of failure
and complete scalability
15 February 2005, 3GSM, Cannes, France: Adax has announced
a significant new High Density addition to its Signaling
Gateway product family.
Supporting up to 256 SS7 links the highly scalable Adax Universal
Signaling Gateway (USG) has a fully redundant design with no
single point of failure to provide a highly reliable SS7 – IP gateway
solution. Based upon a 4U rack mounted chassis, the USG is designed
to be implemented as a mated pair providing a single network element
with a single point code that performs like a traditional SS7 STP,
while providing IP inter-working with SIGTRAN endpoints and SoftSwitches.
The link density, scalability, throughput and high performance
of the Adax USG enables operators to manage the growth of their
network while maximizing revenues and satisfying consumer demands
for new services.
From a single common platform the Adax Universal Signaling Gateway can
support SCTP, M2PA, M2UA, M3UA, and SUA together with options for M2PA
to M3UA and SUA interworking. The result is a multi-purpose solution
for any SS7 over IP requirement with options for SS7/IP switching, routing,
tunneling, and back-haul. The USG also supports SCCP (Signaling Connection
Control Part) to provide network services above MTP3 and can perform
GTT (Global Title Translation) to enable the destination signaling point
and SSN (Subsystem Number) to be determined from the signaling message.
The Universal Signaling Gateway enables the simple and straightforward
migration of existing SS7 Nodes to IP transport, saving the costs associated
with leasing or provisioning dedicated long haul SS7 circuits. In addition,
the migration to IP signaling enables the network to deal with the increasing
demands for bandwidth from new applications such as video gaming and
with the more ‘bursty’ nature of traffic generated by SMS
and multi-media messaging.
“With the announcement of the USG we have now added a high density
option to our range of Signaling Gateways” said Barry Zuckerman,
President of Adax Inc. “This level of scalability is a must for
our high-end telecom customers.”
The Adax gateways are NEBS certified platforms for carrier-grade
system reliability and the new USG has a fully redundant design with
no single point of failure to provide a highly reliable SS7 - IP gateway
solution. With outstanding performance and reliability the Adax gateways
offer one of the lowest costs per link and highest throughputs available
on the market today.
