Apertio and Adax Accelerate Development Partnership at 3GSM

3GSM Congress, Cannes, France, 16th February 2005: Adax, signalling specialists for next generation networks, today announces acceleration of its partnership with Apertio, the world's open mobility infrastructure company, that sees the SS7 developer integrate its HDCII and ATMII PCI cards across Apertio's entire suite of open mobility applications including its Home Location Server (HLR), Home Subscriber Server (HSS), Prepaid Server, Portability Server (MNP & LNP), Equipment Identify Server (EIR), and many others.

The addition of Adax has played an important role in enabling Apertio to develop the market's most flexible, resilient, and performant mobility application, placing the network on a unique new price performance curve. The high link density and performance of Adax signalling cards supports the ability for Apertio's applications to carry high volumes of traffic, while providing the scalability to add subscribers quickly and efficiently.

"Apertio's suite of open mobility applications is driving the migration from outdated hardware systems, to open, software-based infrastructure that eliminates cost and complexity from the network, and provides a clear path to IP mobility," said Robin Kent, Director, European Operations, Adax. "Our signalling controllers and lower layer software sit at the heart of the Apertio technology, providing a powerful and interoperable connection to the SS7 stack."

During the development phase, Adax worked closely with Hughes Software Systems to provide an integrated solution, and exchanged products, ideas and technical expertise to meet Apertio's demanding performance criteria. The resultant solution saw an integrated SS7 and SIGTRAN solution from Hughes that helped Apertio's applications achieve unmatched performance and scalability. By leveraging Adax solutions, Apertio was able to reduce total cost of ownership, while increasing the return-on-investment to its customers.

Commenting on the partnership, Paul Magelli, CEO of Apertio, said: "Without the performance of the Adax solutions, scalable core network applications would simply not be possible. Adax allows us to deliver to ever expanding network capacity cost-effectively - we are able to offer a completely new price performance point for today's mobile, fixed, and converged operators."
