Wednesday February 15th 2006: Signaling gateway provider, Adax Europe Ltd, today announces major enhancements to its AdaxGW product, to facilitate IP migration without incurring the massive expense that an infrastructure overhaul can incur.

The capital expenditure associated with signaling infrastructure development is high but using the enhanced AdaxGW configuration options will considerably reduce outlay costs by giving operators the freedom to use the gateway in a variety of network positions.

The flexibility of the product can drive massive reductions in operational expenditure by its ability to meet the evolving needs of an expanding infrastructure. The AdaxGW can be re-configured and re-deployed to enable one device to fulfill multiple functions over the course of its lifecycle, reducing the level of capital expenditure required to support future infrastructure developments.

"Potential revenues from value added services and emerging markets, and the demand for scalable, high availability networks are key drivers in the migration from SS7 to IP infrastructures," explains Robin Kent, Director of European Operations with Adax. "When operators are looking to exploit these opportunities their own requirements and objectives must lie at the heart of the migration process. Our technology enables network designers to make this transition on their own terms to ensure the operator gains maximum value from its developing infrastructure."

The AdaxGW is a common platform with configurable software that gives operators the option to position it as any one of the following:

  • Signal End Point (SEP)
  • Signal Transfer Point (STP)
  • Simplex or HA mode
  • SS7/IP routing, switching, tunneling and back haul

Irrespective of the configuration mode in which it is deployed, the AdaxGW is controlled by a single management interface, increasing its flexibility and further protecting operators' investment in Next Generation IP Signaling
