Product Focus

Adax Signaling Gateway - Box, Blade or Software Modules and I/O cards - YOUR choice!

Adax’s market leading Signaling Gateway, the AdaxGW, is now available in a variety of solutions. In addition to offering the AdaxGW box, Adax have teamed up with Radisys to provide the Gateway on an ATCA blade, and the SIGTRAN software is also available as individual modules to work with or without the Adax I/O cards. The AdaxGW provides a high-performance, cost-effective solution for connecting traditional SS7 to Next Generation and IMS IP Networks and these new options further extend the flexibility and scalability of the product suite.

Adax SIGTRAN Software Modules include:

M3UA – MTP3 User Adaptation Layer

M2PA – MTP2 Peer-to-Peer Adaptation Layer

SCTP – Stream Control Transport Protocol

An M2UA module is also available which, for Adax SS7 customers, provides a quick and simple link replacement solution with an API that requires little or no change to the existing signaling application.

Adax makes SIGTRAN work in your world. Whatever your system architecture and requirements, Adax has a readily available SS7 over IP solution. For more information about the complete Adax SIGTRAN product suite and how it can maximise your system performance please click here...

What's New!

HDCIII includes Broadband SS7 ATM AAL5

The latest generation of the popular HDC SS7 controller now offers optional support for broadband ATM AAL5. This provides even greater flexibility, meaning you can run multiple protocols: MTP2 LSL, MTP2 HSL and ATM AAL5 HSL, simultaneously on one card over any combination of the 8 T1/E1 interfaces. Every effort has been made to keep the driver for the HDCIII binary and source compatible with the previous HDC/HDCII drivers and in order to take advantage of the new functionality a special HDCIII Porting Guide is available incorporating the ATM features. The AAL5 data transfer is based on Adax ATMII driver and maintains compatibility with that product as well. All of this is designed to save you development time, improve the time to market for your application and reduce your total cost of ownership.

The HDCIII is available in AMC, PMC and PCI/X formats and a low-profile PCIe version will be available for Sun Rack Mounted Servers later in the year. For more information click here...

Technical Update

Adax and SS7 Monitoring Solutions

The new Adax HDCIII card now allows customers a much more robust solution for monitoring SS7 links.

Traditionally this has involved using a High Impedance card and a splitter cable. This allows all the transmitted frames to be sent to one port, and the recieved frames to be sent to another. Together with Adax's FISU filtering this provided a working solution.

The new implementation is a modification of Adax control ports: these allow customers to access a particular timeslot and see information on that link without disturbing the traffic flow. This modification is called the Monitor Port. The Monitor Port is associated with the relevant timeslot, and will be sent a timestamped copy of every frame transmitted or recieved. The timestamp is up to microsecond resolution, to allow accurate ordering of messages by the host application.

These new features are fully documented in the HDC Programmer's guide with example code, allowing customers to quickly implement solutions in the familiar Adax framework. It also removes the need for additional, specialist boards and additional cables.
